Quiet the Gorilla. i was tidying my room and found my copy of this script and re-read it again. so nice, so inspired, so healthy for the new year. and yea, i'm going to put an excerpt of it on my msn nick. Watch out peeps, go find this script and read it. it's quite a nice lovely short story.
Excerpt from "Quiet the Gorilla" by Tan Mei ChingSIEW: ...This dream I had. First a kangeroo bounces past me on the street, then a giraffe, then a family of lions, then everybody on the street ran like mad, but I was going the opposite direction, toward the runaway animals. Then came the gorilla. This huge hairy thing that ran down the street. It saw me and came in my direction.
(MIN starts crying again)MIN: Don't tell me a tragedy right now.
SIEW: No, no, this is good. I ran.
MIN: And was caught. And eaten.
SIEW: No, I ran and the gorilla came after me... Then I realized something, that the radio was playing. So I switched it off. You know what, the gorilla quieted down. It was the radio that was making him mad. Then we celebrated with coffee.
MIN: Why are you telling me all this? What has it got to do with anything?
SIEW: I don't know. Maybe, sometimes we should just switch off the radio and maybe we don't have to fight the gorilla so hard.
MIN: (Crying more)I don't know what the hell you mean.
